How we came to be home based is a story on it's own. Glenda has been perfecting her bridal seamstress skills for nearly 25 years. In 2007, she was inundated with the need to have gowns altered and custom requests for upcoming weddings. She expanded her business to include bridal retail. We opened the doors of A La Mode firsts location on October 11, 2007 in a local strip mall. Small, packed to the brim with fashions, business was fast becoming a juggling act when the beginning of the chair cover business began in January of '08. In September of 08 she moved the business back to a home based shop to accomodate the needs of both branches of A La Mode. While injury may now limit her ability to personally perform the alterations to your gown, her fitting knowledge will aid the seamstress who work with A La Mode in making it so. January 2011 will see the bridal moving to its own home... stay tuned for updates on location and move. A La Mode is a comfortable, neighbourly business that dresses the bride, then dresses the day. We strive to be real, not pretentious, offering service in a relaxing atmosphere. Your appointment allows us the opportunity to help you find your gown on a one to one basis. Bridal gowns are the #1 passion of Glenda's - cuts, silhouettes, fabrics, draping and structure are important features in every gown. Her goal is to see you in the gown that suits you best. We are registered with the Saskatchewan government, licensed by the town of Martensville, operating with a current GST number. Our business is authorized as retailers for all of the dress lines in our business. Dresses are ordered specific for each customers. The one exception would be the sale of sample items and prom.
